Micrometers

A micrometer or a micrometer screw gauge is a precision measuring instrument which is used to gather very fine measurements and is available in metric and imperial versions. Micrometers use a calibrated screw or thread for more accurate measurements of components in mechanical engineering as well as most mechanical trades. They usually come in the form of callipers e.g. opposing ends joined by a frame.
